A GP helps was started by Dr. Theshanka Hibbert MBBS BSc Hons MRCGP DRCOG to provide expert health and life coaching, available UK and Worldwide.
Hello, I’m Dr. Theshanka Hibbert, but you can call me Tesh. I’ve worked as a fully-qualified medical doctor in the UK for more than 15 years, mainly as a GP in both government (NHS) and private clinics. I grew up in Buckinghamshire, England. I gained both my bachelors degree in physiological sciences and my medical degree and at King’s College London.
I completed my hospital residency across the UK, including the South Coast and Midlands. Early in my career, I joined the private sector and became one of the youngest private GPs in the UK. I initially worked in corporate medicine at Goldman Sachs and then gained further years of experience practicing throughout the City of London and Canary Wharf. Along with private work, I have also always worked in the NHS, helping people of all ages, from newborns to those who are over 100-years-old. I've been privileged to support patients and their families through life's ups and downs.
I've been through many hard times myself, always using these as moments to take stock, re-centre and grow. I use what I've learned to relate to others more gently and without judging.
Through all the beautiful and tragic moments of the last few decades, I kept feeling that something was lacking, especially in my day-job. GP appointments, whether NHS or private, are usually short - often allocated just 10-15 minutes. Even planned longer appointments can often follow a routine set by the doctor or healthcare organisation, not the patient. I won’t get into the complexities of the modern healthcare system now, but I strongly felt a need to support people in a more complete, whole-person-focused way.
From working with many patients, I’ve learned that helping people feel good is about much more than medicine. It’s about how we view ourselves, our lives, and the progress we make. That’s why I trained as a life coach, studying for five years. I earned a distinction in my diploma and now offer life coaching in the UK and abroad online. If you would like to discuss the option of becoming one of my coaching clients, please get in touch.
Also, watch this space, because I won’t be leaving medicine completely behind. My next goal is to provide health checks, blood tests, and special tests that can be hard to get through regular GPs. This clinic should be up and running in central London by Spring 2026. Subscribe to my newsletter for the latest updates, insights, and helpful tips along the way.
Have a lovely day,
Tesh
